VIDEO: Remembering Kim Ji-seok

On May 18, 2017, we lost one of the world's most dedicated proponents of Asian cinema, while BIFF lost their founding father. Renowned filmmakers from all around the world gathered to pay their tributes to the late Kim Ji-seok. A timely initiative Platform Busan, which was also Kim's brainchild, was launched at this year's festival, connecting independent filmmakers, both in Asia and beyond. The inaugural Kim Ji-seok award was also launched to encourage filmmaking in Asia.
